OP here. This thread has taken off! Things have been busy and I haven’t been on here to respond until now.

Guy 1 is 37, In finance, and makes between $200-300k. I have an idea but I’m not sure exactly how much he makes.

Guy 2 is 39, doctor, and makes between $400-500k. I have an idea of how much he makes but don’t know how much exactly.

It’s much more than money for me. I want a husband with a good career, but I want someone than is stable, dependable, honest, kind, respectful, etc. I want a man that will be a good partner and father.

Two questions.

Have they ever been married?

Just how loud is that ticking clock?


OP here. I’ve never been married. I’m 32 and ideally would like to be married by 35 and kids by 40.

OP here. They both know I’m seeing others. Both causally asked on our second date and I was honest that I was seeing other people. Guy 1 asked after we had sex if I was still seeing others. He said he really likes me and hasn’t been on other dates since we our third date. Guy 2 asked about exclusivity but never really said if he was seeing other women.

I’ve been able to manage seeing both of them. I don’t make excuses - I just say I’m busy that night. They both know I’m seeing others and I’m sure they know that I might be on another date when I say I’m busy.

OP here. No. I don’t think it’s odd that they aren’t married. Neither have been married. Many people are getting married later and later and waiting for the right one. Both have had longterm relationships and they broke up for various reasons.

See how easy women have it? The average guy would never be able to find three women to date at the same time.

I don't think neither is the answer, not waiting for a fairly tale is the smart thing to do. If you remotely want children in the future, I would ask the simple question of who will be a better father? It's a balance of who's more patient, who's more willing to take on more housework, who enjoy children more, who has better DNA and who has more financial stability.

Get your AMH checked. I started TTC at 33 since I had high ovarian reserve and regular periods. It’s been 2 years and we haven’t had kids yet and I regret waiting. We are “unexplained” and are in the midst of IVF. I would start trying at 35 if you’re married or ready.

Stop trying to select who you date based on who you MIGHT marry. That is the fairly tale world of BS. You date someone to get to KNOW THEM. Then if it happens it happens. YOU can NEVER tell if you'll marry someone you're dating because the decision isn't yours.

This is the issue with people dating and always assuming "I have to date THE ONE". Why? And how the heck are you suppose to know that? If you did you'd play the lottery.
