She’s not a child. It creeps me out how many of you are inclined to infantilize her.
It creeps me out how you're encouraging bullying behavior. Be better (or Be best, if Melania is more your style).
Sorry but no. She’s an incredibly successful and powerful woman. If she can’t handle a little criticism, she needs to step away from the stage.
Lol. Who made that a rule? Some triggered Hausfrau who hasn’t picked up a tennis racket in 20 years? Also you are a complete fool if you think that successful and powerful don’t try (and frequently succeed) to shield themselves from criticism all the time. Prince Andrew had the royal family kill an early story about his Epstein connection, Ben Affleck had “finding your roots” take out all mention of his family’s slaveholding past, Gwyneth Paltrow got a vanity fair hit piece killed, etc. and those are only the situations that (1) the public knows about and (2) I can remember. Interesting how you are only triggered by the biracial teenager doing the same thing…
This. The right wingers are only triggered because Naomi is black and Asian-the triggers for white victimhood claims. If a white athlete has acted identically to Naomi, Megyn would be praising him for his honesty in raising awareness about mental health issues.

I've seen white guys criticized in many walks of life for many different things. Sometimes even on the Internet.

+1. Where are all the examples of white men being praised for asking for special treatment?
Tom Brady is the perfect example.
Refused to answer questions about leaving his pregnant girlfriend, about knee injuries, he said he lies to the media most the time, refused to go to the a White House when he won the super bowl, walked out on media when asked about trainer, on and on and on

Marshawn Lynch. He paid more than 100k in fines for this.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I don't quite get it. Why does Naomi HAVE to do interviews? Aren't they completely voluntary? So then is Megyn just bitter that an attractive interview opportunity is no longer available?
It’s usually part of their contract. Remember the football player who was sick of the media and decided to just respond to every question, “I’m just here so I don’t get fined.” The media has been an issue for plenty of athletes Bc it’s vile. Megyn proves this point.

No no no. Disagreeing is not bullying. You can criticize someone without it being bullying. More weaponizing of words. Not everyone is fragile. And the press events are part of the contract. If she didn't want the reporters "getting in her head," she could do what others do, as has been stated. Just repeat--"I'm here b/c I'm contractually obligated to be."
Yes. She can stop playing tennis, and signing those contracts. However, she is being called out for cherry picking. Can do this event, but turns around to do three more of her choosing. Yes Houston we have a problem!
Weird you think that is cherry picking … most balanced people don’t do every event offered to them.
+1. Most tennis players pick and choose what events they show up for on n the tour. Standard Operating Procedure. And a top player like Naomi absolutely can and do “cherry pick” events.
She can pick which events she wants to play. But if she chooses an event where players are contractually obligated to be interviewed, then she should not get a special exception. It should be an even playing field for everyone.
But we know it’s not. Top players are treated differently in every sport, not just Tennis. Naomi is young and she is changing the game.
