Point still is Miranda’s family bailed on APS. This is a single issue candidate who does not have credentials trials or even a demonstrated commitment to the school system. If for some reason APS ends up not fully opening in the fall, will her kids both be in APS schools regardless of how it looks? Can she commit to reenrolling her kids no matter what?
Miranda should get get on the board or whatever of her kids' private school.
Leave APS to us poor public folks.
+ 1. Miranda is a Johnny come lately. She even admitted she hadn't heard of an issue until she did debate prep and watched a debate from the last race.
It's also clear that she has no ideas for anything after schools reopen. Schools are open now and will be fulltime in the fall, BEFORE the new member takes office. I want someone who can thing beyond that.
Oops.

Clearly what we need on the SB is an angry lawyer who was “forced” to withdraw her child to private school because APS didn’t meet her expectations during an unprecedented global crisis.

Mary was a teacher, but that’s probably a knock against her from all the teacher-haters who think highly qualified educators speak in “edu-babble.”

Miranda only cares about those who have been screaming for full time in person. That's it. That was made very clear by her campaign manager TT on AEM who was incredibly hostile to anyone who said that doesn't work for my family. The APS world is much wider than APE. Miranda, if elected, will advocate for those in APE and that's it. That is scary to me.
You are way off base. TT is not her campaign manager, he isn’t even affiliated with anyone in her campaign, he just posts about her all the time on AEM and I bet she wishes he wouldn’t! I could never ever vote for Mary after what she pulled as McKinley PTA President. When her kids school was put up as an option site, she put forth tons of maps screwing over every other school so her precious kids wouldn’t get bussed elsewhere. You think she gives a rats ass about anyone else?? Miranda moved into the Drew neighborhood and plans to send her kids to school there, even though she could afford to live elsewhere or send them to private school. She supports equity, and raises for teachers, and wants ALL kids to have the chance to go back to school. Mary just repeats the same talking points from every other school board member ever, and doesn’t seem to care at all about getting kids back in the classroom.
You're waaaaay off base here.
Miranda is a white gentrifier family who moved into Green Valley. Her kids do not attend Drew. She pulled one out into PRIVATE SCHOOL. The other is in Montessori. So much for equity if you won't even send your kids to the neighborhood school in the historically black neighborhood.
As for Mary, whatever she did at McK with the moves, she didn't do it for her own kids. Her kids were too old to be impacted.
Please—that was all about property values (and I’m not a Miranda supporter).

Actually MT's kids have been in Drew for a long time, but she was forced to withdraw them due to school closures issues. I've heard her say publicly her kids want to go back once school is in person again.
"forced?" hahahaha
"forced to withdraw them" and send them to private school" is just hilarious. Talk about privilege and lack of self awareness. Do you know how many people can't afford private? Or could but stuck with the public schools?
I don't want someone representing me who just gives up on public school so quickly, and then wants to represent me and my kids who are STILL in public.
Oh you really made my night.

You all clearly did not watch the debate and just enjoy troll posting. She has a kid in MPSA and another that went to drew who will return in the fall. She has a kid in private and has been fighting for more days in school for all kids. This is not an Alexandria superintendent issue where he withdrew his kid and continues to keep other kids out.
