+1. Lots of people in the city send out their laundry or even *gasp* go to the laundromat. Not everyone lives the same or has the same conveniences in their home. For an ostensibly "urban" site, the posters here show over and over again how provincial they are.

OP clearly lives in her own house, not an apartment building with a communal laundry room in the basement, and posters responded accordingly. Certainly no one would begrudge an apartment dweller a laundry service.

I checked with God and He told me that His love does not depend on whether or not I do my own laundry or send it out. I was fairly sure He felt that way but I'm glad He confirmed it.

I would totally do this if I lived in an apartment—my friends in NY used to do it. But doesn’t seem worth it when my laundry is 10 feet from my TV and kitchen. Also, like PP I just don’t trust them to air dry the things I don’t want shrunk, and to pretreat my kids clothes for stains (that’s the only time consuming part). Do they really get all the stains out? When I’ve done this on vacation, like 50% of the stains come out and 50% are baked in forever.
Also, I’ve never done my husbands laundry and we don’t do sheets all that often, so maybe I’m just doing a lot less. My preteen son is the only one that really generates a lot of laundry. I can see doing this if I had 4 teen boys sweating through stuff constantly—or more likely would just make them do their own damn laundry.

My most hated chore is micromanaging my kids crap, but I feel like that’s hardest to outsource. By that I mean both the “figure out what’s too small or they don’t use anymore” and the “what’s the pile of stuff you shoved behind your bed and is that your retainer jammed in with your library book and a handful of candy wrappers—this is not what I meant by clean your room.”

Laundry is easy. Mindless. I've never understood peoples challenges with it.

Please don't take the Lord's name in vain. He doesn't care how you do your laundry.

Now, if you said, "For the love of God please provide clean laundry for your unhoused neighbors" we might be talking.

I totally agree, OP. We use Rinse. I hate hate hate doing laundry.

We use Happy Nest. They come pick up a bag of clothes, towels, and sheets off our porch and bring them back clean and folded. But Happy Nest isn't paying me, I'm sure there are plenty of other options.

Np. To me, it is a waste of money. I don't mind laundry at all. So you can go ahead using happy nest but it isnt for everyone.

For the love of god, just get a live in housekeeper.

Why pay for the back and forth, to a corporation? Miss Sue does all of our chores. She’s worth every penny, like a grandmother to our kids.

Not if you don't have a washer / dryer in your actual apartment.
