He was a perp? They initiated a stop because they thought he didn't have a tag. When he stopped under the gas station lights they saw the tag.
They should've let him go immediately.

Which one should he have followed? Hands out the window or unbuckle your seatbelt?
Give me a break. He refused to exit vehicle. Cops did right thing.
He wasn't charged with anything.

I think the lieutenant should have gotten out with his hands in the air as directed, but,
I can only imagine the terror a black man feels when those blue lights fill the rear view mirror.

This is clearly a lesson for police officers of what NOT to do.

This is an informative video to show kids that even when a black man is in the military in full uniform police officers (particularly white ones) will still see him as a dangerous threat and use excessive force even if no crime has been committed.
Or maybe to show them that if he had just done as instructed no force would have been used in the first place.
Think about how those two different lessons might effect the outcomes in life for the kids.
One assumes racial motivations where none are evident. One one lead them to assume they are being targeted even in totally innocent interactions.
The other might let a traffic stop just be a traffic stop.
