If they want to go to top 25 colleges, yes.

Most can Academically go to “Top 25” colleges on their own.
Keep dreaming of that photo op tho.

The older teams in HS will likely stay together. 07 and younger will see the top players leave. It is happening now especially around the u12-13 ages.

I think FCV Aunt Becky is referring to ENCL Training Camps. All this hype to send girls to VMI...[/quote

Right! She has nothing to do with that platform and still those clubs fail to send the kids and build their clubs resumes and the child’s portfolio. She used her connections to do what all Director’s should do which is promote their program. Don’t be salty!

Everyone knows that surrounding clubs have recommended their top players to get camp invites and they were black balled to make room for these sideline friends with benefits politics. This is no different than the aunt Becky situation minus the paying millions. Again the club benefited from this parental arrangement and took full advantage of it. Pretty easy to do for a TD to do when you consider the entire picture. So many have seen this yet nobody has formerly complained to us soccer over the years. So no, the 04’s had a lot of help since they were 13 building their soccer portfolio knowing full well how important it was for them to get that parent on their sideline to get more camp invites. So yeah that formula has proven to work for now. Once this 04 class graduates then maybe aunt Becky will move on and someone different will be hired to scout this area more equally. So many good players. It’s such a shame but there is still time, it will be a much harder road, but they will prevail.

Maybe but that sideline help had nothing to do with the ECNL training center did it? And how many of you had that opportunity?

Not many have had the ECNL training experience and maybe that is how it should be?! Friends of the family should not get accolades. It is so recklessly obvious why this club and this 04 team has so many commits. I’m sure the “non close friended” parents of that team who are reading this are nodding their heads up and down right now. So the reason there is a negative vibe going on in this thread currently is because advantaged were given unrightfully and a club is bragging about how many early commits they have. I’m calling it out for what it is. So to our statistical expert please stop with your bs about how great the TD is, how top notch the training is, and how they are so committed to each player.

When aunt Becky moves on or climbs the us soccer ladder she’ll move on to get in the ear of DD college coach. Then we will see this pattern continue for national team call ups to camp. I mean it will help promote that school right?

I don’t know how it can be argued that having that experience doesn’t make you look more attractive in a pond of highlight videos & emails these big time coaches get on a daily basis. Obviously the kids that show an interest in that school will get a early follow up look. I mean why wouldn’t a recruiter put that player on the top of their list to check out? These players must perform when they get that look. So obviously those kids are performing well. I just find it unrealistic that of all the soccer players in the DMV- ecnl & ga (whatever) so many have come from the same team. Not buying the “superior” individual talent on the same team and never will.

Correct, and it boils down to what is your clubs Director or coach doing to support your child to be seen? If that Director is lazy and doesn’t have the connections to get you seen and help with making your child’s portfolio enticing or they can’t get that D1 college solidified for your player then that’s not a club you want your kid at. As a parent I would be looking at current club commits and compare. Ask yourself why hasn’t the majority of the team committed, to what top colleges have those girls been able to break into. It’s really seeing how committed the program is to the girls in the program. This happens by getting the players seen, pushing them to the NTC to build there portfolios and developing a great training program that is fast paced to support their development for when they are seen. Again, we can say all we want but FCV 04 class just proved how great Bobby is at getting those girls seen and recruited. Plus everyone wants to say that FCV has a big influence at getting those girls seen for the NTC, this is true however another club in the area has one of the biggest influences on it as well and for some reason that hasn’t helped that club in the slightest. My point? Go where there’s proof of commitments and getting girls to the next level.

Beating up on bad competition, game film that gives a false sense of how good players are. Easier to be recruited during Covid via film when you are playing against weak teams

FCV plays ECNL teams and everything is filmed even scrimmages.

Meanwhile our club failed miserably on film.

Put all the 04 players on the same starting line.
-Ask them to step forward if know this parent.
-Then ask kids to step forward if their parent is friends with this parent.
-Then asks the kids to step forward if they received a camp invite anytime between u13-u16.
-The tell them to race each other in the recruiting process to get committed early. This has nothing to do with TD initially, so please stop the bs and be honest with how this played out for this 04 team.

Parents looking for prestige. D1 not good enough anymore, foots be a power 5. It’s all optics

How many of these slightly above walk on offers would have been accepted if the parents weren’t able to paythe remaining balance?

What would you do if your kid was offered 20 percent at Tech, 40 at William and Mary, 100 at JMU, 30 percent for out of state Tennessee.

Really numbers. Real money.

Sometimes it’s not about the photo op and the social media post that last for one day.

And to the person who mentioned VMI begging for girls. Your right. They are. Use that to your advantage. It can be a 120,000 dollar education for free...and there is additional benefits as well.

After your kid post, “I’m extremely humble and privileged to announce that I’ve verbal committed to play D1 soccer and continue my academic career at Joe Smith University...then what?
