Now go register your kid and get them IPL
that says you can register them - not that they would be guaranteed an IPL spot.
I suppose it’s too hard to call and ask
No, I’m not going to enroll my kid in a poorly performing school I have no connection or relationship with that is an hour away from me on public transit. Those twitter idiots who think this is some kind of gotcha are just making themselves look stupid.

You don’t think they are showing you yourself?
The claim was IPL, my child is suffering, IPL yesterday because learning loss. So by any means necessary means moan on DCUM but not get your kid to in person for the mental health, for their test scores.
Are you the ward 3 mom who doesn’t want gov involvement in housing to ameliorate past ills because government shouldn’t be involved in past matters? Even your own neighbors can’t stand you

I try to avoid the vitriol on this site and recognize these a complex issues. There are some kids, however, who will never recover from being out of school this long. Having worked in education for fifteen years, there is a small window to keep those kids engaged and motivated. Many will drop out at some point due to learning loss during the pandemic. Our society may not care or may still decide this shutdown of schools is worth that price but it is a price that will be paid.

Maybe if I lived in Capitol Hill, but I don’t have time to spend 2-3 hours in the car for a couple of hours of IPL (assuming two round trips a day). I used to drive my kid to a school just east of Rock Creek, and that was 35 min in rush hour, so don’t tell me I can get EOTR in 20 min.

No. DCPS schools generally don't take new students after count day in October. It's disingenuous for WTU trolls to claim that we could have in-person seats but we just don't want them. Additionally, there's nothing wrong with expecting your own school to open.
I’m so sick of parent trolls on this website who can’t read. You can submit a post lottery application. The schools in Ward 8 have announced on Twitter they will take students to fill their empty inperson seats. You are welcome to apply.
