I just really like the flavor and texture. And it lasts forever in the fridge!
Good point.
Also, it's really cheap.
And crunchy.
And delicious!
I like to have shredded cabbage, rinsed kidney beans, and sliced Hillshire sausage links. Or without and anything else you want to add. With a twist of kosher salt and a dash of ground pepper and splash of lite soy sauce.
It’s delicious.
Oh that sounds good. I like to steam it with polish sausage, onions, baby carrots and maybe potatoes. So yummy lasts for days. Reheats well. I make a giant pot and have leftovers for lunch for teenage boys.
I plan to try this recipe this week. I’m salivating thinking about it! Can you recommend the polish sausage you prefer?
When I was a teen, I remember when we saw relatives in the south, there was some special type of sausage. It was delicious. I have no name for it and I’ve been on its hunt for nearly 30 years.

I love cabbage. Just introduced DH to cabbage ‘steaks’; he was amazed. Between us, we ate a whole cabbage for dinner.
Disgusting

I saw the recipe posted for cabbage steaks up thread and I loved its presentation and prep. How filling were they and did you serve with anything else?,
I’m thinking of topping with a mozzarella or a sprinkle of cheese? Because, of course I take something lean and throw some weight on it.
It’s in my blood. 😊

I eat it as a side dish, a salad, in a veggie burrito bowl and sometimes I make sandwiches stuffed with the cabbage,
