Time will tell if your prediction that no one will run against Allen is correct. Incumbency provides many benefits, and I am sure it is discouraging many would-be challengers.
Regarding your assertion that people complaining on DCUM are in the minority, last night's Zoom meeting did not provide evidence of that. While many audience members expressed support for Allen's criminal-friendly stance, just as many expressed dismay with the councilmember's criminal-friendly stance.
Did Allen even responded to their questions or complaints? I hope there were people letting him have it.
He tried to rewrite recent history by portraying himself as tough on crime and passed the buck on the increasing amount of violent crime in his ward to the USAG's office, complaining that it was letting violent criminals go free. A complete abdication of responsibility.

If you are logical--if you are willing and able to hold police officers **and** criminals accountable--now is the time to get your campaign going. There are many like me out here willing to donate money and time to your campaign.
Agree. I would too. Time to fight the power.

I can’t almost type this without bursting into laughter, but are there any candidates who are socially liberal, but more pro-business, pro-development and tough on crime??? Ha ha hoooooo hooo. I forgot where we live. Bring on the “tax the rich and give to the poor people who have 10 kids out of wedlock” style politicians.

We are like that - Republicans who live in DC. All of the above... I think Tony Willis our best Mayor was like that ( I voted for him). Maybe we need to have more "independent" candidates who fit the bill above. Get away from having to be blessed by the title Democrat to get elected in DC?

This is what I am saying. It’ll be back to 90’s where lawlessness reigned if we keep up these lax on crime, woke criminal justice policies. If people know they have free license to do anything without consequence why would they stop? Charles Allen’s latest constituent email touted his progress with promoting “violence interrupters”. Get the fk out of here. All the studies show they don’t work.
