Loudon (developing a steady playing system of modern soccer m)
Bethesda (would be number one without parents ruining the club and scaring players and coaches away. Many families that are rich don’t care if ECNL is a path to college - case in point the disrespect of the family that allowed their kid to stay home from school sick and go to practice - quarantined the entire team with covid)
Mclean (broken year needs to rebuild)
MD United (coach is out of favor with players)
Baltimore Armour - first class coaching, weakness is GA
Baltimore Celtic - same as Armour
Arlington - probably stealing mclean girls with the new coach who was fired from mclean for fighting with a parent
VDA - meh.
It’s all about what is the right fit
Pipeline does not deserve to be on any list
OMG - must be the same person making multiple comments. Loudoun "developing a steady playing system of modern soccer". I'm laughing my ass off here. Do you work there? Or do you actually believe this?

I heard the tournament was just to get games when everything else was getting canceled
So ECNL is strong competition like a Pipeline match...both leagues have clubs/teams that dont belong
Doesnt development also have to do with Coaching Staffs...why leave for average at best coaching staffs...should research this
if small rosters with the so called best league...that would scare me to why arent kids flocking to play for them
I agree with you on Pipeline at this age level. You’ve got to admit, though, that the rest of the ECNL schedule is more more challenging than the GA schedule.
You’re also partially right on development. Coaches play a large part, but so does the quality of your teammates at practice, and the quality of opponents in games. If practice with a good coach was all it took to develop, a player could just do personal training and skip the whole the thing. I know that’s not what you were intending with your comment above, but you have to acknowledge there’s more to development than just the coach.
As for small rosters, I think many of the ECNL teams in this age group - MDU, Bethesda, McLean - had small rosters at the start of the year and are holding spots for expected movement of players from some other teams, primarily GA teams, that did not happen last spring because of covid. McLean added a MF from Arlington mid season, Bethesda added a player mid season . . . Expect more movement this spring with things returning to normal.
People will then complain about 18 -20 person rosters. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

CU is a fine GA team, but they’re not even the best GA team in Baltimore.
More importantly, PP’s sales pitch is that CU has had some good results against ECNL teams in tournaments. So that’s the sales pitch? Leave a ECNL team for a GA team that only plays a handful of tournament games against good competition, but the rest of their schedule is a poor GA conference schedule - FCV excluded - and some poor tournament competition like the “East Coast Super Cup” where CU played The Bayshore Banshees, Henlopen Crush, River Gold, and Coastal Atlantic Blue?
CU has some good players who would benefit from practicing with and playing against better competition on a regular basis. If MDU and Bethesda have small rosters for their ECNL teams, it’d seem like there may be room for those better CU players to make the ECNL team, get meaningful playing time, and possibly step up their development.

Obviously a Metro parent, because no Metro players make the team
The 07 who plays up on the 05’s at Metro is definitely on the list.
That is the problem when folks like you come up with these lists and think it is some form of grade of your kid.
There are lots of kids in your age group you have never even seen because they may play up, play on boys teams etc. Just because you don’t cross paths with them doesn’t mean they aren’t out there.
