I don't understand how thousands of FCPS have rare health conditions that don't afflict every other teaching community in the country.

They don't have a rare diseases. They have the health conditions that were listed by the CDC as individuals that needed to be more careful during the pandemic.

Only ok DCUM is pregnancy a rare disease. Or diabetes, or cancer, or asthma.

And they’ve all had teachers covering classes or subs and then reverting to DL when they ran out. I know people who work in those districts. It is not “working.” I know one teacher who has had to quarantine 5 times due to exposure at school. Her whole class too.

There really should be zero need for monitors.

I think part of your problem is your verb choice. No one is refusing. They have permission from HR, FCPS and essentially the federal government to work from home because they were granted an ADA accommodation. If you're so angry about this, then your proper next step would be to contact the superintendent about having HR reevaluate accommodations.

You are effectively saying pregnant women and people with cancer should be fired. Losers. Replete losers.

Sweetie, your vacation is over. It's time for you to go back to work.

You really think this is clever but you are talking TO THE TEACHERS WHO WERE ALWAYS GOING IN. The ones who didn’t quit, said they’d teach hybrid, have been dragging your kids through this year while you berate us, got a vaccine and will go in happily so you SHUT UPPPPPPPP

No. But if they already have a ADA waiver to work from home because of their health it’s irrelevant. That is granted for the duration of the year. Pregnant women have it because it’s been very unclear how CoVID OR the vaccine could affect a baby. Y’all need to just chill. We have the staff to go back. People with health issues are not your enemies smh it’s so pathetic

There's no guarantee that someone is granted an ADA for the entire year. Circumstances change. The vaccine was available.

Exactly. I love how these lazy teachers love to talk about the most rare health conditions that apply to .0001% of the population. It's pathetic.

Note to teachers and administrators: YOUR VACATION IS COMING TO AN END.

Okay genius. Here’s why you need monitors. Because you’ve decided to be obtuse.

Teacher goes in unvaccinated. Contracts CoVID. Or is a close contact with someone positive and has to quarantine. Whoops. She has to teach from home for 2 weeks. In person kids need a monitor.

Teacher kids go to school. THEY get exposed and / or infected. She has to take leave to stay home with them. Maybe can teach at home... BUT IN PERSON KIDS NEED MONITORS

Your retributive and punitive cruelty to feel better only hurts you and YOUR KIDS. No monitors, have fun staying DL.

Teachers will be vaccinated by the time school is in-person. There is no issue here, and certainly no need for monitors.

There still is if they cannot come in. If we have symptoms at all, even post vaccine because you CAN still get it, we have to stay home until we get a negative test. Who watches your kids then? If our kids get it and we have to take leave to stay home, who watches your kids?
