When I realized how much money is out there in foundations and charitable trusts (hundreds of trillions), I realized that my money wasn't needed. There is more than enough available to solve the problems money can solve, if only they would spend it instead of enriching the fund managers.
So we focus our charitable contributions to volunteering time and talent, and smaller donations to local and personal needs that larger institutions ignore but that have an immediate impact on local lives. Cash is nowhere near 10%, but volunteer time and talent exceeds that in value by a lot.
