Actually, no - she said it wasn’t her choice in the fall to temporarily step away from her show in the lead-up to the election. This move seems to be her choice, to focus on her book.

They congratulated her hard and then Wolf asked John to give her any advice, and then the screen went to a three way split of the two of them each way back during their time in her role and she LOVED it. Really loved it and there were a few jokes about aging, then she came out with a really natural southern sounding, "you're aging like a fine wine." They kind of gave her a chance to move on, and she said she was loving it and thanked them
