I pretty much just assume most households have one. Is that not the case? Most people I know have one.
It’s not the case. Most of us don’t. It’s your peer group.
DP, but it's really funny that you think that PP's peer group are some sort of Second Amendment nuts or something.
I have found out that multiple families we know very well have guns in their house. All of them voted for Biden. None of them hunt, and none are military or law enforcement (former or present). I was shocked to learn they had guns, but it taught me that you truly don't know people the way you think you do. So to act like your peer group and PP's peer group are truly that different is laughable.
I don’t think that. I also don’t work with people that thing guns are normal or need them for work. It’s funny you assume all of those things and feel compelled to essay about it.

Cars are regulated. They require annual safety inspections. People can lose their license for being dangerous drivers. You have to pass a test and carry insurance.
If there was more oversight of who could own a gun and laws requiring proper storage and insurance, then I would have more confidence in gun owners. And if a parent wanted to ask about my driving record or safety features of my car I would be comfortable with that. I take being entrusted with the care of other people’s children seriously and do not mind answering questions.

OP, my kids are gonna stay far, far away from you.
I doubt it. I could be your best friend (if you have any friends) and you would never know! Hahaha
dp pp do you lie because you think nobody will come over to your house? I think it is shameful you can't be honest when someone asks you a direct question. What else would you be willing to lie about?
Exactly, if everyone here is like it’s no big deal to have a gun, then why hide or lie about it?
For the same reason you don’t tell people you had a safe with valuable jewelry, firearms are incredibly valuable for resale to criminals. My neighbor’s house was burgled, stole a little money and all the locked guns.
LOL really good reason there to justify things. Yea, your neighbor is going to rob you of your gun. No, it’s going to be Jimmy’s parents who live in the other neighborhood. And yea, their parents are going to announce to everyone at the school that you have a gun.
Anonymous wrote:No, I would not let them play there. They can come here.
When I was a kid I broke into home safes. I wasn't even particularly talented or anything. So I would not trust that kids left alone would be totally safe from a locked up gun.
And I don't trust that people would tell me if they have a gun. I don't really care if people think I'm a local crazy lady or not.
