Np. Princess Anne and Camilla's husband and Margaret and her first husband but it was long. Certainly not a good reason yo skip a whole show!

I still don't understand the purpose of the monarchy. It doesn't seem like they really understand it either besides "tradition" and "history."

Why can't the PM do the ceremonial stuff in addition to the politics? That's what the POTUS does.

With the exception of the queen and Philip, I find all the Season 4 portrayals cartoonish to the point of absurdity.

The royal family always took precedence, clearly. I think William has kept the Middletons on more equal footing. They spend holidays together, etc. Seems more normal.


I think Diana couldn’t really trust her sister either because the sister’s husband worked for Queen Elizabeth.

Her mum abandoned her as a child and she was raised by her father and step mother. Totally dysfunctional aristos. You sort of have to be British to understand properly.

I think they’re trying to portray him as the unloved puppy that he (at least thought that he) was, which explains some of the resulting ego issues and desire to be with Camilla, who expressed love for him in the “right” way. I think the caricature is over the top, but I get what they’re going for. I can’t watch Gillian Anderson’s portrayal of Thatcher. Painful.

How fortunate, and that she was lovely. I've met Fergie at a dinner party years ago, and she was decidedly not lovely. She's more boorish and self-centered in person. Her insecurity really jumped out.

Yeah Charles is an innocent puppy who didn't realize that having an affair would hurt his young wife. Give me a break, we all have agency in this world and the ability to know right from wrong.
