Widowed mom here weighing in. This situation was a hot topic on a forum I used to frequent. Sometimes men can be a bit too 'friendly' and yes there are widows and other single women who play with fire. But the woman OP's scenario is dumb, clueless and horny. The DH needs to simply shut it down and even block or not return calls.

I tried to not be the helpless little woman but there were times some extra assistance was more than welcome when my kids were little. We had a nice neighbor dad and teenage son who would help, like when they saw my 5 year old son and I stacking a huge load of wood that was dumped in the driveway. There were a few other times and I also tried to return the neighborliness. But not by trying to have sex with the dad. Just, no.

Yep - weird for sure. One thing for my DH to hang out with another mom and have a drink while kids are playing or go without me if I’m busy but it’s a group, but to go over solo? Weird! If it’s a friend of his (and DH does have female friends pre kids) from years past I get it, but a neighborhood mom friend - nope.

BS! Age difference means nothing these days. Men can be worn down by pretty much any female that is constantly throwing themselves at them. Her DH had the typical response to make her feel secure and let it go. I’m with you PP, keep on him that you are not comfortable with the 1:1 lunches and that you will cut off his b**** if you find out he does it again. Unless this woman is 400 lbs with a beard and 10 teeth I wouldn’t be ok with this either. Fyi stats show 85% of affairs are with coworkers! I would also show up at his office dressed to the 9s with his lunch packed in a pharmacy bag and when leaving I’d whisper to grandma that your DH has a raging case of herpes and please don’t mention it to anyone.

And seriously, I agree with what you've said, all of it. I don't think PP should have hit the roof, but I think she has every right to tell her husband she wants him to back off of the one on one with this lady for awhile.

You have to ask yourself is she hotter than you? And have you been breaking him off recently. A man will evaluate before he does something stupid if everything goes bad am I willing to lose. The poster is correct, we can be worn down, but our resistance to being worn down is entirely dependent on what we have at home.

In this situation it's too close to home you're going to get caught and you know that so it's all about if I lose my life (as in current living situation along with my wife) am I okay with that?

And this is why as much as I am no fan of Pence or his boss, I've always said that one rule of his makes sense. Of course the lady and her mother flipped on me started making jokes about how I belong in the 1950s.
