I am realizing this now. Sadly, I didn’t advocate for my child and here we are. DC isn’t learning anything and he seems to be stagnating. I feel that enrichment would maybe engage him more. I didn’t want to be that obnoxious mom who thinks her kids are superior though, so I just forgot about it. I can look for extra stimulation for DC on my own.
Many Asian students have the same problem because their parents cannot adequately advocate for them and yet white parents accuse all Asian students of doing too well. LoL.

I posted the Karen comment, sounded facetious but I was being serious. It only work if you're white. Some immigrant kids' parents may not even speak English well enough to advocate. When minorities do advocate, they are often considered difficult, whiny, what-have-you. When white people do it, it's advocating. Obviously there are exceptions here and there because there are a smattering of genuinely good people in decision-making positions. Infuriating, but you're right, it is modern public education.

We have an issue with a system that incentivizes spending thousands of dollars and hours on exam prep. There are those who would conflate the two - those people are nuts.
Whites spend even more money on prepping because they pay for private tutors for test preps, classes etc. private tutors cost much more than in class tuitions so we should outlaw those first.
