Also, the teacher only calls on the kids she can "see".
They need to be able to SEE all their 25 students like on zoom. Students need this too. Can't they just use zoom and have everyone choose gallery view?!
I’m a DCPS teacher as well as parent, and not being able to see all the kids is awful. I kept the class list and checked off kids as they participated so I got everyone, but it’s hard when you can’t see them. My DS couldn’t raise his hand or chat, and he wasn’t one of the ones that showed up in the screen. In the spring we used zoom, but admin says we’re stuck with teams this year. We also had issues with chat and hand raising not working for students.
. I’m a teacher and just found it today!Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:It was close to worthless and ridiculous to spread out 15-20 minute meetings to prevent a solid chunk of outdoor play for younger kids.
+1. I blame parents for this misguided effort to imitate a full day when 1/2 or less would do.

I'm hoping there is some amazing content and teaching, because first day was just the most boring meetings ever. Let her turn off the video and play with legos while the meetings went on in the background. Good prep for work zoom calls![]()
I'm so sorry. That's pretty traumatic for a kid.
