My pitbull leaps 5 feet in the air, supersonic speed, goes right for the throat, rips it out, spits it on the ground and will continue to maul you like a metal shredder.

We already know how people feel about certain breeds and they’re entitled to their feelings, just like pitbull owners or “dangerous breeds” will defend their dog to the end.
But enough is enough already. Shut this one down....

Scary! I hope your DD is ok. Did the neighbors have to pull the dog off? Was the dog euthanized?

Neighbors Doberman struck like a snake and took a bite out of my DD s forehead on our front yard. The owner never thought ANYTHING like that would happen.

When the doorbell rang, she would bark twice, then walk away from the door to a little mat about 10 feet away and sit (so as not to ever startle or scare a new arrival) and then only come when called. She was also wonderfully sweet and a great pet. But I think that's rare and takes a level of pet-training commitment that few can muster.

Carolyn Hax, the advice columnist, FWIW, is a supporter of not judging by breed and has in fact posted pictures of her very young toddlers snuggling with her ex-husband's pitbull.

Lol, I’ll take my advice from my ER doc uncle who sees people come in with dog bites, most of them from their own dogs. Carolyn Hax shouldn’t be your source of wisdom.


Agreed! It is just nutty to trust Carolyn Hax as a font of wisdom on this. Crazy!!!

Nope. I love dogs and have 2 large ones of my own. I dont tryst the breed, period.

+1 Something missing inside them. I would have a hard time respecting anyone who chose a dog like that.


LOL this is exactly what I think with every post in this forum where someone is complaining about their low life spouse.

Not any breed specific, but I couldn’t date or be long term with anyone who has a dog I can’t stand. One of the reasons I broke up with someone. Just couldn’t see a future

Who cares? A yorkie is not capable of taking down and killing a human being. A pit bull is. Who cares about the biological specifics of why?

Pit mixes are the new dog to own. Great dogs and readily available at shelters. Paying a breeder to produce you a golden doodle is disgusting. Racism is the pits.
