1. Travel that requires overnight stays in hotels, extra meals at restaurants, public restrooms, all add risks that local games simply do not. Add in plane trips for Texas clubs who would go to Jeff Cup and even more risk, FOR SOCCER.
2. Kids CAN pass the disease on to adults. Adults are at more risks than kids. Are you going to tell the Maryland Soccer coach and the Frederick soccer coach, both of whom died of Covid that there is no risk?
3. Soccer is an extracurricular. There are certainly risks I would take for my job but I will not add to those risks for a soccer tournament. I do not need to get sick and put people at my work at further risk.
So, accept that this fall is going to be different, look for ways to find compromise and we can get all of our kids out on the fields.
Jeff Cup already changed the older groups to "Friendlies" Colleges are not coming to the showcase. So why don't throw your outrage at them? Do you think they are not making a educated decision based on a risk reward? Perhaps they feel having a Fall soccer season is more important to them than a rushed showcase. You should take that perspective as well. I'd rather play as much a full season as I can and not worry about some extra tournament after nearly 6 months of layoff.
I wasn’t talking about Jeff Cup but thanks for your input. I understand what you are saying and I disagree to a certain point. Nobody is demanding that any clubs go? If they don’t have enough teams, it will just be cancelled.

Sorry, but the CDC is a goddamn mess, and really nothing they have been saying is "clear". They contradicted themselves in a short Q+A via the white house today- they are clearly playing the game, and are highly influenced at the moment by the Trump administration. it is a shame that the trump admin has even made this political. Its pathetic.
And I hate the "protest" argument. The right LOVES their rights. There is no chance that protests can be squashed, even during Covid. Trump has tweeted for an entire month about how bad the protests were for america...... yet he had no problem reposting a republican seniors protest, not social distancing, not wearing masks etc etc. Hes the biggest hypocrite of them all and is to blame for the situation we are in now. Asthma and seasonal allergies both can cause lung damage.
Find me a non-biased source that can confirm the damage along with a published study.
I could post multiple links to Doctors with a supposed cure as well but none have a published study either which is why I don’t post them.

Thanks for posting. This is troubling. I wish Williams had followed up with why asymptomatc people were being xrayed. I wonder if it was as simple as someone coming in for a broken rib and they found a positive Covid test and while checking the rib found lung damage. That sort of thing. These journalists need to do a better follow up job I questions. I would have even asked the percentage question -where is the findings on this and is this available to the public. As people are making sports decisions, this is important information to digest. For example-do you have your child get an X-ray if they test positive to antibodies? Would this be a reason to get antibody test and then X-ray etc. How does lung damage impact if you should play sorts etc. Lots of questions here.
