And pretending to be otherwise. As loathsome as Marjorie Taylor Greene is (and she is loathsome!), she is upfront about it. We know who she is and anyone who is against what she stands for will vote against her. But Cawthorn tries to hide his hideous views and people might be fooled and vote him in.

So, he was being a jerk because he could. He tried to sow disbelief in the democratic process and the encourage the fraud and election-theft allegations just because he it was Constitutionally allowed, not because he actually believed it.

He was complicit in the destruction and damage to Congress and the insurrection on January 6.
