Let me guess your next response: ‘all the schools are great in MoCo.’ And I said in a few years if the policies continue the way Lynne Harris would like. If you can work at home and the schools are actually focused on education and not ‘wokeness’ then Frederick is viable.

Translation: if you are afraid to go into DC for entertainment, and don’t care about how school policies impact low income whites, LGBTQ, black, or brown kids, Frederick is viable

I'm surprised Dasgupta trails Harris so far, given he had the Apple Ballot (teachers union) endorsement. Guess they are losing clout.
Looks like votes in represent about 10% of registered voters so far. Lower than I expected.

The real issue now with MC is a teacher is either a class above (Silver Spring) or a class below (Bethesda). They aren’t invested in the success of MC anymore. Urbana will beat Wootton in the next several years once ‘bright flight’ rolls even more. The smart are not being served in MC. (Magnet schools will be on the block next if Harris gets in). Too much politics and not enough algebra.
Agree. Too much of a focus on ‘progressive’ politics and not enough focus on education in MCPS.
Will absolutely see ‘Bright Flight’ out of MCPS by people of all races.
Plus there will be some major budget cuts coming. Our Principal already talked about then. Lots of programs will need to be cut. It will lead to a greater decline of an already declining school system.

I'm always tickled by people who assume that, because you're middle-class and have a college degree, that means you're bright - and, conversely, because you don't, you're not.
I’m the PP.
I never said that. I said nothing about being middle class or having a college degree. You are projecting.

Please list the names of the middle-aged white women currently on the BoE.
Not that PP, but nearly 50% of them - Silvestre, O'Neill, Smondrowki...

Establishing a commission to make a recommendation isn't a bad idea. But it doesn't speak much for your leadership if you're not willing to stand behind the commission's recommendation (or come up with alternative one) by voting for it.
He was endorsed the by teacher's union, and they paid to have a flyer with his name and photo on it send to every voter in the county. I'm surprised he only came in second, with that kind of big money backing him!
I'm a MoCo voter, have voted in every primary and general since moving here in 2004, and did not receive a flier with Dasgupta's face on it. Or anything from the Apple Ballot, for that matter. Maybe they figure my vote's in the bag already since I'm on the east side.
I also didn't receive a flyer in Rockville. I don't believe Apple Ballot flyers were mailed out.
