Why would anyone be ties to that narrative? (My DC will be in ninth grade at Wilson in the fall.)

Here’s one idea: Deflection by white families who don’t want to send their kids to Wilson; they can claim it can’t possibly be about race since middle/UMC Black families also won’t send their kids there.

I'm one of the PPs that said I don't see many Wilson signs, and I'm also a black SP resident. Granted I have much younger kids, but I don't know any black families with kids at Wilson in the neighborhood. All the ones I know are at various privates, parochials, and Walls.

I think it's a good sign that younger black families in the neighborhood seem more willing to attend Wilson by the time their kids get to high school. I guess not great for overcrowding, but it's only a handful from SP anyway.

PP here. Dozens? I’ve seen maybe two Wilson signs and I walk/jog 2-3x daily. Way more private school signs. Having talked to parents, they have continuing concerns about Wilson.
