Would nyu undergraduate be similar to Northeastern? Low admission rate and decent schools, but not T20? I know Northeastern is ranked lower, but asking from a prestige perspective.

went for graduate school for a small, well respected program - many years ago now. NYU had recently become the "It" school...not just a local college. There was lots to do - lots of internships, discount tickets to sports and theater, free NYU sponsored language classes, religious clubs, church. Everyone I knew loved their program - but hated the university. working the system was tough. and it was expensive...even with generous financial aide at the time. but there's nothing like living in New York!

Plus both Stern and Tisch are great programs with high caliber students. Think the acceptance rate is below 5%.

Grad programs are top rate at NYU- Arts, Business, Health Research, Law and Medicine.

This draws fabulous faculty too.

Agree encourage your child to examine the programs of interest then do further research into the culture.

Right because there are no date rapist frat boys out there? Do you think the admissions "vetting" process includes asking them about their options on binge drinking and bro-culture?!
I went to a top southern school and drunken sexual assaults were run-of-the-mill. OMG enjoy your bubble.

Several friends of DD went there. Both smart and have thrived. They knew exactly what they wanted out of the experience job-wise (one works in fashion, another wanted a career in finance) and focused all efforts towards those goals (classes, internships, networking etc). My DD thought about it but wanted a college experience with quads, sports, greek scene etc and needed those first 1-2 years at a SLAC to figure things out. NYC / NYU is great if you can maximize the experience but otherwise easy to get lost.

All city schools that is about it. US news. NYU 29, GW 70, Tulane 40 and SMU 64. NYU is 29 in the times global and 30 in the times US, it’s also 35 in Forbes 2019. I think your information may be dated just like you. Stuck in a loop of old information.
