Figure out a way to move to Canada before this started. (Actually, any country with decent health care infrastructure would do.) Too late now...
Canada’s response is awful. They also don’t have enough tests and didn’t do jack until Sophie Trudeau was a confirmed positive.
I don’t want to be in Canada during a pandemic. I want to be in South Korea. Drive thru testing for all, immediate approval of labs at the ready with tests, 24 hour hotlines, prosecuting the church leaders responsible for the biggest outbreaks.
I call troll. Canada’s response has been swift and appropriate. The numbers only began to rapidly escalate last Thursday. Before that, only 4-5 cases per day in Ontario or total of 50. But more cases started getting imported from the US due to travel in the last week. Once community spread seemed evident, more restrictions were put into place. I’m in Toronto and haven’t heard of people trying to get tests but unable.
The only stupid thing is Trudeau closing borders to all except US citizens, even that’s where most cases are coming from now. That’s due to politics.
No, PP was right. Canada's response was not swift and not accurate.

I have no direct knowledge of that, it's just the overall sense that I get when looking at the numbers.
Wrong.

If you believe this, go to the US or UK thread. UK is trying a herd immunity, aka cull the herd, strategy. Canada has been extremely sluggish but has just now picked up the pace since Trudeau's wife got infected.
NO European country has handled this well. We are much better off in the US. At least we have ICU beds.
Yes, I know this isn't saying much.
Nah, they've now tightened the criteria for tests.
Testing everyone may be possible for some Asian countries (although I have some thoughts about that), but not elsewhere.
Whoa! Canada has actually tightened test criteria? What's the logic? Shortage of tests?
