Anonymous wrote:DA's release from today says 2020-21 membership is "finalized". Does that in any way indicate that they have confirmation from members that they will continue to be members in 2020-21? I would think so. I wouldn't send out a release saying anything was "finalized" without locking down my current membership. Might the Real Colorado/Dallas Texans announcement coming earlier the same day point in that direction as well?

Thats it.
RIP DA GIRLS
Just wait until they announce Stafford as all in too.
Crazy.
Stafford is certainly comparable to REAL COLORADO and TEXANS. Right.
Well, Stafford will be in your division in two years and Real Colorado will not be.
It really is irrelevant which league these clubs are in, none of our ECNL clubs will ever rub elbows with them. Are you really going to tell folks at coctail parties that your kid plays in the same league as Real Colorado?
I guess you're trying (clumsily) to somehow make ECNL look weak but why the full salute for Stafford? They're already in RL, and stinking it up quite nicely. I suspect that ECNL will eventually promote high performing RL teams to full ECNL, but Stafford does not resemble a high performing club. And as far as Real Colorado goes, what magical event is going to cause them to reverse course and leave ECNL?
In two years RL will be ECNL. That is the point.
What are ANY of you talking about? My head hurts...
1. Real Colorado had 1 DA and 1 ECNL team last year. They were given an ultimatum to chose....and they went DA after ECNL refused to give them 2 ECNL teams. The re-negotiated and got their 2 ECNL teams. They are back to ECNL. (PDA, HAWKS, STARS, and Real Colorado all have 2 teams)
2. Dallas Texans dropped DA for ECNL. Why does this matter? Because it further weakens an already weak area for DA where to much unnecessary travel to play crap teams is occurring. It causes a domino effect.
3. From the SOCAL Forum: "Tophat rumored to be mulling the two team offer. If they go ECNL, then my guess is that Solar goes. If that happens, Lonestar goes (they already dropped boys DA for ECNL). If that happens, then FC Dallas has nobody to play. They also will likely go ECNL. Lavers should be on the phone to Solar and FCD (and Tophat) right now figuring out a deal. This may be his opportunity. If FCD and Solar get two teams each and leave DA for ECNL, the Frontier Conference is dead. SoCal can't be far behind. If all that happens, I think US Soccer is off the hook for having to proved a Girl's DA Program or risk being sued (the entire reason for it's existence). They provided it, and it was rejected."
4. SOCAL is the heart of girls DA. They are quickly realizing that they don't need to be in a national league. They are a national caliber league (Locally)
Now on to another subject:
5. ECNL regional league - All of the east coast ECNL clubs took their NPL teams from last year (their B teams) and made them their ECRL teams, dropping NPL. THATS IT. THATS ALL.
Now on to another subject:
6. Calling DA players "full time" and ECNL players "part time" is starting to get used more and more on this forum as an argument.
ECNL Player:
July - February (8 months) - Club soccer
March - June (4 months) - High school soccer
March - June (4 months) - Mandatory club practice (1 per week) plus showcases and playoffs
ECNL players are playing year around. They play more than DA players. You can make an argument that they are playing too much, over use, practice to training ratio, etc.
However, calling them "part time players" is absurd.
You are hoping for to many things to fall into place.
