I think that OP needs to address the bad BO medically and by following a better hygiene routine. I think the boyfriend could be a jerk and control freak but still correct about the BO. I also think that the BO issue has created a situation that op is not attracting good guys but InCels and POA kind of assh0les. Her pickings are very slim.

Bad breath is usually caused by Digestive issues and stomach conditions. I know I have bad breath when my stomach is empty. Eating just a slice of bread or a piece of fruit solves the problem

OP, that's good that you made a decision but you still need to address the funkiness. He might not have been the right guy but the next one might be nice and non-controlling but can't put up with the smell.

He's not trying to "control" you by telling you that you smell bad. He's just saying he doesn't want to have sex with you. What you do with that information is entirely up to you. Sounds like you're in denial about it though.

There was an article about this not too long ago, but I can’t remember what publication it was in. I want to say NYTimes but not sure. Unexplained body odor is a real problem that some people deal with.

Also, do you have allergies? My kids smell whem thry have sinus infections. I know something is wrong when i brush their teeth and they still smell off.

You could use a hunters soap to get rid of body odor. Do you wash with a loofah or wash cloth? Use a natural toothpaste and gargle with peroxide and see if that helps.
