The thing with Leon is that he outrageously great comedic timing. Even if you don't like all his crude content, he just has the uncanny ability to steal a scene.
You really can't punch that up in a writer's room with a team of writers. It just has to happen naturally. In fact, with CYE the editing process is probably a lot more important than other shows because they are not following a traditional script and capturing written lines.
I was also at The Anthem event with Larry David. I wish someone would've asked about the editing process - seems like its critically important to the show and crafting the narrative arc of the episode. They probably leave a lot of good stuff on hard-drive of the editor's computer.
