It is a name. It means "a thorny patch", and was the original name of Sleeping Beauty - Briar Rose.

With this reasoning, I assume that Cinderella and Rapunzel are also on the table?

I like the sound of Blair and Briar together. But we’re also considering Darcy.

I have a friend with a Blair and they are naming their second Quinn, seems like you have similar taste. Also, what about Wren, which I think it becoming somewhat more popular.

My BFF had a friend named Lane, and I always thought that name was very WASPy.

OP here. I like the suggestions for Quinn and Paige. I will run them by my DH.

It sounds like you’re going for a “popular girl from the 80s” vibe here and Paige does that for you. Go for it.

OP here. Blair is my MIL's name. So no.

Briar is just a name I've heard and really liked.

To answer some other questions, I guess we are on the WASPier side. We are white and Protestant.

In a similar vein, Sloane.

Or Heather, Jessica or Michelle.
