They were also in ECNL’s top 25 clubs which is a good indicator of a clubs overall strength. We play BRYC today. I would like to believe the sinking ship theory but the reality is far from that.

Yeah, 4 years BRYC had "BN" coaching for the young age groups, one coach for 4 age groups and with countless parent coaches.. go figure.
Anonymous wrote:In a he DMV for sure, you can’t make a blanket statement about the quality of DA vs ECNL because there’s such a disparity between the levels within each league. In DA, FCV is great, but Metro is only ok and Arlington is abysmal. In ECNL, McLean is generally solid, Loudoun and VDA (except for one age group that will probably split up soon) are not good, and is only good at the oldest age groups (and given the current group of coaches, will soon be below Loudoun).
So saying DA is better because 1 of the three DA clubs is the top in the area is a step too far and ignores how bad the other two are. And that club isn’t the top because of the league; it’s because it attracts the families who believe they have to be part of whatever is deemed the best, regardless of costs, abusive treatment of their kids, excessive activities to prove your commitment or the actual quality of the coaching. FCV’s move to DA recognized this need to feed their parents’ egos, as they couldn’t afford the suggestion they weren’t in the “best” league.

I think to suggest that the local ECNL teams are very competitive with all of the DAs is a pretty large leap without the benefit of cross league play.
lol. and conversely to suggest that local DA teams are competitive with ECNL teams is a pretty large leap without the benefit of cross league play.
Ha, the post to which you are responding was simply a reaction to someone who indicated that that ECNL teams would be competitive with all DA teams; I was simply questioning the basis for that view given the absence of cross league play. I made no statement about how competitive I believe DA teams would be wrt to ECNL teams, despite whatever thoughts I have on that topic.

Richmond v BRYC girls 03 battle on Sunday. Going to be a good battle for first place.
Looking forward to hearing about it on Twitter.
Hahahahaha we all know who loves twitter. Twit away, you twit.
Bro, I think that post was a joke post, not to be taken seriously.
Damn, what did I miss. Did someone get their panties in a twit?

Fair. I would say the top local ECNL team is better than the bottom DA and vice versa. But the top DA team would beat the top ECNL 4 times out of 5 in most cases and age groups.
At U16 and below I would agree. I think it's hard to say at U17 and above where ECNL retained the majority of local talent.
