Gonzaga and Landon are soooooo different it’s surprising that anyone applies to both.

One is a Catholic school with a student body that is very Catholic. It’s 1,000 students come largely from Catholic parish schools. It’s in an urban location. It’s teams play in the extremely competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.

Landon is much smaller and has a very heterogeneous student body. Many of its students start the school in the 4th grade. It’s deep in the suburbs.

These are two very dissimilar schools with very different student bodies, families and alumni.

Prep and SJC remain the main competition for Gonzaga.

Landon’s for the 1% who aren’t interested in a Catholic education and environment.


Prep isn't competition. Gonzaga was the it school about 4 years ago, that is changing now.


Take a look at the attached Parish Times. It'll tell you where graduates of a number of Catholic schools are going to high school. Lots and lots of mentions of Prep, Gonzaga and St. John's. Landon mentions are rarer than hen's teeth.
