Being a social pariah is the tiniest punishment possible and completely appropriate.
I don't care. He was not a traitor to America like Trump is. And he was not a national embarressment, sexual predator etc.

Thinking of the other side as the devil is how we get into a situation where people think of trump support as an identity instead of a political position that can be discussed.
This isn’t about “the other side” and it’s so condescending to assume that anyone who thinks George W. Bush is objectionable is incapable of making friends with Republicans.
That isn’t the issue.
W. Is a war criminal. He is getting off easy because the 100,000 people whose deaths he caused were brown and lived really far away.

2) Concerning W's views on gay marriage: Why are we bashing Ellen for having a friendship with him? As a society, shouldn't we be encouraging people from different backgrounds and with different belief systems to get to know and understand each other? Isn't it positive to expose someone who does not believe in gay marriage to a loving and healthy non-hetero relationship? People form opinions based on their experience and exposure. People also grow and evolve. I'm a lot younger than W but I hope that I'm not done learning by the time I'm his age.
This is a good point. I wonder if he's ever felt any remorse for DOMA.
Not sure why President Bush should feel remorse about a law that was signed by President Clinton in 1996.

Nope. It must be fun to read this forum believing that everything you disagree with is written by one person. I’m going to try it out.
It continues to amaze me what barbarism Americans will excuse, cloaked in gentility and procedure and trying to split culpability.

You do realize that Obama's drone strikes have also killed innocent people. I take it you're okay with that because he's your exalted one?
And those innocent people were BROWN.
