The football players in my high school in the 80s were indeed taking ballet. I didn’t know it was such a thing in other places as well!

But that's exactly the point. What kind of person laughs at an activity that a child is doing?!? Prince George is royalty. Her comments will have absolutely no effect on his life whatsoever. He'll probably never even know about it.
But other little 5 year olds around the country - boys and girls - are learning yet again that grownups will make fun of something they like if it isn't "usual"

I'm 42, and was a serious dancer as a child. And I remember reading about football players doing ballet in the 80's. This is not new.

Ironic considering they host Broadway shows to do segments. In fact, she introduced Hadestown in their first post-Tony appearance on TV. All those Broadway actors took ballet at some point in their musical theater training...
