I agree. The dog owners will show up and make a big show about how their dogs are in the car. They'll conspicuously go out to the car several times to "check on" their baby. They will make such a prolonged scene hoping they will wear everyone down. Wait till they pull the "I didn't know it was going to be THIS hot and declare they can't leave their fur child in the car...at which point I really do hope OP (or her husband) says, "Then you'll need to head home. Bye." It's going to be a sight to behold.
