Multiple people claimed I stereotyped all women, which I did not. I clearly spoke to MY experience, common cultural threads I see, and mentioned that not all women I've encountered are this way. I also mentioned that I do have a close female friend. So many responses cast this to the side, people get caught up in their emotions, and make false statements. It is this emotional dynamic that suffocates me. This pressure to coddle another woman's feelings that I can't stand. I want to come across more truly independent women. Those who do not offend easily, who can handle opposing experiences/viewpoints well, who are strong in their personhood, and who realize that 9 times out of 10 in life....shit ain't that deep.
Nobody cares OP. Nobody cares. Enjoy being casually aquatinted with men and just do your thing and leave us out of it.
+1. I don’t know why OP thinks anyone is interested in her feelings on this.
Well, she needed to vent and you know as well as I do that men don't want to hear that type of crap. Op, you need some girlfriends,

Yes. I love football. I grew up watching it with my dad. And I love dark beer esp porters and stouts.
Women on this site have said that I'm faking these to get Male attention. They can't believe it is genuine. Why would I make it up on an anonymous website?
It's not that we think you're making it up. It's that This Type of Girl ALWAYS really likes beer and football, really really explicitly, like it's a character trait.
Declaring that an entire gender irritates you, and then assuming not that it's because you're hanging around with the wrong kind of women, but instead it's because you're a Cool Girl, is a trope. And a really boring one.

Just yesterday I was chatting with a friend who runs her own business about the grant she had applied for and her various plans for scaling up and my plans for advocacy work in involved with and how all the women in our (not overlapping) social circles are doing extraordinary things and are extremely supportive of one another. In fact we also discussed how lovely it was that many of us have young children, various versions of marriage or lack of spouse involvement and different parenting styles and yet we can still turn to one another for advice without judgement. My female friends are a loving safety net against a crazy world.

Anonymous wrote:I am a woman, but for the most part I hate hanging out with other women. The majority of women I encounter are insufferable. They are needy, have unrealistic expectations of you, and have no yet perfected how to be independent. They also have not learned how to enjoy time alone with themselves. I know this is not ALL women, but it is a lot of women. It's maddening. Men are so much simpler. I envy the way their friendships work at times.

Not in my experience. I'm a genuinely nice, people-pleasing person and mean people see that and treat me like crap to feel better about themselves. Usually women but one Male ex did as well. I was raised by a Narcissist to feel this was normal.
