I don't deny your point. ECNL showcases become the main priority for ECNL clubs. It is an issue for clubs like Pipeline and is increasingly becoming more of an issue. The point I continue to make is that there will always be non-DA/ECNL teams like Pipeline that are capable of competing with the top ECNL teams. Such clubs will have a more difficult job of getting exposure to the top DI programs. It is not impossible but is more challenging.

With two national platforms available for kids to play in these unicorn teams are becoming increasingly rare. The ability to retain the players is going to be a greater challenge moving forward. The 05 Pipeline team will likely lose its core players over the next two years as a result of dilution.

I think the Pipeline discussion is particular to the 05 unicorn team. Pipeline 06 is probably more representative of the talented kids moving on to the DA team versus staying at EDP.

ECNL teams show up less and less as they get older. The top bracket becomes heavily skewed towards NPL level teams and Jeff Cup becomes less of a showcase for ECNL.

Notice the heavy percentage of both DA and ECNL caliber teams at U13. That level of talent concentration in the top brackets at the non-league showcases becomes heavily diluted. This will be the reality for the Pipeline players. They are limiting their own showcasing potential just to keep the band together. Pipeline's ability to retain the talent on the 05 team will be severely tested past U15.
