My kids are 18 and 15. We've been at one of their sporting events every year for the past 10 yrs. I'm still waiting to be celebrated.

Except I want to be with my children. And the grandmas only want my children and don’t really care about us (their kids). Basically just another day to fight over who gets to see my kids. I feel like our moms should be with their moms and we should be with our kids.

You must have missed the part about her dinner with her family that her husband takes care of.

Something I normally wouldn't eat for breakfast/brunch, like doughnuts. Yum. Obligatory visit with my crazy family (though my mother is the most functional of them, and I do love her) late morning. Extra-long workout for me in the afternoon, followed by takeout sushi and all the rosé once the kids go to bed.

Sending MIL and mother cards. Otherwise nothing. This is a made up hallmark holiday. My family can be nice to me any day of the year. Plus, my kids have things already scheduled for the day that we cannot change (it is as it should be).

I told my DH I want to go to my regular Sunday workout class and then for him to get my favorite takeout for brunch. My toddlers are still too young to make going out for brunch enjoyable. Looking forward to it!

Nothing. Mom died a few years ago and DW will be with our children and her new DH.

I'm a mom of a 9 year old boy.
But, every year, I go to my parents place and have a bbq or something similar. It's never about me.

Eh, that doesn't sound so bad to me. I also have one nine year old boy and work full time. Every few months (maybe every 2 to 3 months) I'll do something just for myself - get a pedicure or a massage or go to a book club meeting or out for drinks with a friend. I usually go to my mom and dad's place for lunch or brunch on mother's day and it is usually a moderately fun time.

Have lunch at a restaurant w my mom and then go watch my child's soccer game.
