If this is under investigation by the police, they may be forbidden from saying anything until the police file a public report. There is some sort of agreement between MCPS and MCPD about communications while things are investigated. Rumor I heard was that teacher and student were making out in hallway before school. If so, that is likely to be on camera. Hopefully the police will file charges soon and we will know what actually happened.
In the HALLWAY?
LOL! Kind of funny if it's true. Why not close the door and stay in the classroom.
Nothing about this situation is funny. A child is at the center of this rumor. Please take a second to think of what the girl at the heart of the allegations is going through.

Do you actually have kids?
What would be 'sad' is to bury your head in the sand. It literally takes 5 seconds to do a search. You can do it while you wait in the carpool lane. Or, while you wait for your coffee maker to brew.
It would be 'sad' if parents didn't do some research.
MCPS has proven that it's not in business to protect kids.
A good way to protect kids by using a cell phone (or, a computer even?) to do search when driving (or, more accurately "operating your vehicle")?
Wow. You must be so smart.
Except for when you’re not.
I get to the carpool at least 10 minutes early and have 5 minutes to sit in the car. With the car turned off. So, no worries. I’m not driving. Thanks for your concern.
10 min is insufficient time to actually search properly. Tell you spouse that you need to quit your job, stop doing housework, and devote yourself full-time to double checking every adult you know against a website. If he complains, he must be trying to hide something himself. You can keep going to the gym though. It takes stamina to type in the names of all the thousands of people who might encounter your child.

So so much.
Mostly, I think the school system is just too big. And that makes it so hard to run it efficiently.
Lack of leadership. Lack of accountability.
Exactly which elected politician can can implement complete accountability in MCPS?
This is it exactly.
MCPS is just too big. This is what happens when a system/corporation gets too large.
In a smaller school district, the community would demand action and the Damascus Principal would have been gone after that WaPo article.
Have to disagree. The only rational conclusion is after weekly posts of racist debacles and other unseamly scandals at Churchill it's safe to conclude that school is a mess. They need to rework the boundary completely and start over.
Even if the school were a mess, how did you reach the "rational conclusion" that "They need to rework the boundary completely and start over"?
They used the same rationale the PP applied to conclude the county is too big.
