It's a grade level where they expand the size of the class. Not a Maret parent here, but for many schools it would be JK/PR (duh!), K, first year of middle school, 9th. More kids are accepted for these expansion grade levels during each admissions cycle as opposed to a non-expansion grade where only a couple of spots may be available.

Has the board changed markedly? If not, I’m not sure what makes you think the new HoS—Whittle tenure aside— will steer into the iceberg any more than the outgoing HoS. He might even actually remember the names of his employees and not try to get anyone who leaves voluntarily blackballed from peer institutions.

Me too. I literally was paying my nanny to teach through College. But then the kid got into SFS so I was like oh no?
SFS is cheaper than a nanny unless you’re exploring yours?
