Same here. Jury is still out though. Parenthood is so much harder than I anticipated!

We had our two really close together. By the time we got our heads back above water...two it is. I think we could have planned for a third around the time our youngest was starting K, but I never said anything. I think DH likes the *idea* of another kid or three. We are both over 40 now, and DH had an acute health issue that will now be a lifelong, chronic illness. There is no way I would add another kid to this situation, but we would have been ok with a third kid had we done so a few years ago.

How many kids do you have now? 2, only because we had to adopt due to unexplained infertility, and we are now getting old and poor! Wish we could have had 4. Oh well! My bare minimum, as I told DH, was 2.

But I usually just pretend I have 2 kids on here and rotate them based on my response because I tend to get the "omg, overpopulator!" response when I say I have 4.

Highly likely she will be an only. I have several issues resulting in infertility. Conceiving DD took several years and eventual IVF/FET. We've been TTC #2 for 2.5 years now (both on our own and repeated FETs) with no success. We are out of embryos, and I am not sure I want to do IVF again.

I'm an only. I'm running the gamut of emotions on this. One day, I'm at peace knowing that she will be an only child, and the next day the thought of her being alone like me is truly depressing.

Wanted 1 or 2.

Will end up with 2...my younger one is 12 and we've never once discussed a 3rd.

How many kids did you want before having any? 3 (one of three. Plan was to have two and adopt a third, the third being of a different gender if we had two of the same first).

How many kids do you have now? 2 of the same gender

How many do you think you’ll end up with? 2. I’m still open to adoption, but DCs are now 9 and 12 and I can’t imagine going back to the infant or toddler stage. Adoption is also complicated and expensive, and we just don’t have the money to spend right now. I guess we could foster or foster to adopt, but I don’t feel like I have the time or energy to be a good foster parent to an older child.

In short, I feel like our family is complete and so do not feel a strong need for a third child.
