Exactly. Christians, you need to just accept that your religion dictates one path to salvation -- through Jesus. If you're not comfortable with that, consider that you might not be comfortable with being a Christian.
The best the Catholic Church has told Jews is that we get to be in purgatory, which still places us farther from God than you all. Not the greatest situation for us.

You can't sustain a religion for generation after generation with outdated views that many people view as hateful and discriminatory
As it is, I'm somewhat nervous mentioning that I go to church because I do not want people to assume I'm a trump voter, homophobe, or any of the other things associated with religion lately. I'm in a mainline Protestant denomination, not Evangelical though

At some point in history, good religious people interpreted something in the Bible that allowed slavery, that forbid blacks and whites from marrying, that permitted segregation...is that right? And then at some point, (when it became obvious this was unacceptable and discriminatory), someone said the Bible didn't mean it that way. At least this is what I've always assumed, so please correct me if I'm wrong. But, if this is the case, what if we're just on the wrong side of the homosexuality is a sin interpretation? What if mental health and families are destroyed because it's being misinterpreted?

Essentially, you are picking and choosing from the Bible. That’s fine, but I don’t buy this whole “Paul’s letters are pastoral,” stuff. Paul was chosen by Jesus. Paul’s writings are the foundation of the Church.

PP here, but yes -- the immediate PP gave the answer I would have. These people are homophobic and are using the Bible to justify attacking gay people.
What is the attack? If you asked Mike Pence is stealing a sin, he'd say yes. If you asked him if gossip is a sin, he'd say yes. If you asked him is jealously is a sin, he'd say yes.
But Mike Pence thinks that gossips and jealous people deserve equal rights under the law. But he does not think gay people do.
He also thinks it is okay for his wife to work at a school that will not hire gay teachers but will hire people who gossip.
I bet you $1000 that a known gossip, or someone caught gossiping or causing drama on a continual basis, would not remain employed there. I would also bet you that someone having an affair, with no intention of stopping, would not remain employed. I bet they don't employ people "shacking up" either. It's all part of morality. To be employed there, you must live by a set of morals dictated by the Christian faith. That's not saying every single employee has not sinned - because they have and will continue to do so. But purposely engaging in ongoing sin without repentance isn't setting a good example for their student body.
I bet you $1000 that they employ obese people, like Pence's wife, which clearly shows she is a glutton. What about greed... what is her net worth?
