That sounds so incredibly awesome.
At this point I only go to the grocery store when kids are in school and late at night.

If our kids were terrors then it probably wouldn't be enjoyable, but they're not and we're all together sat morning and in no rush so we relax and it no longer feels like a chore and instead feels like family time.
Unless your children are robots- they would prefer to go to the park. Use a grocery shopping app and take them somewhere fun.

I’m particularly fond of the families who bring the stroller for the kid and still use a shopping cart and walk side by side through the aisles!

See the thread on the NYTs article about the hyper burden of parenting these days. This includes shlepping to the grocery store as a family unit, which is literally the biggest waste of time.

YES!! I am the Instacart poster. I LOVE Wegman's but it is SO big, poorly laid out, congested, and NOT easy to shop with kids. I went there once with them and literally lost my religion. It took 4 hours!!! And the lines....
If you get there at 6 am on the weekend -- I know that is crazy, but hear me out -- it is a dream. Shelves are fully stocked, produce is just being put out. Deli opens at 7 am. 3-4 checkout lanes and self checkout are open and no one is in line. I always shop at this time. You could bring your kids then without any problem. I was watching shoppers this morning, and it only seems that solo parents with 1-2 kids were there.
I think later as the day goes on, more "families" of both parents and all their children are there to eat together and shop.
By 7:30, it starts to get busy and I'm all done.
I never shop with my kids. DH or I stay home with them. I have always avoided, whenever possible, shopping with the kids.

Hell no! I do Instacart. I hate grocery shopping!! And, I cannot stand the anxiety in taking my kids, one who is a rambunctious toddler.

This is exactly why I grocery shop at 830am on Tuesday mornings. The grocery stores are almost empty. No way am I shopping on weekends or in the evenings.

Even if the kids are well behaved, it’s still annoying to have to navigate around all these carts + 4/5 people. If it’s unavoidable, fine. But in general the experience would be much smoother on everyone with 1 person/1 cart.

Ha! My DH insists on grocery shopping as a family and it drives me nuts. I’d rather go get it done on my own quickly and have family time afterwards. It’s also my only “me time”, I love treating myself to a soda while I take my time checking out what they have and planning meals for the week.
It was a nightmare when his parents visited and came with us. They need the motorized carts and it was SO SLOW.
