They’ve talked on the phone before. He repeated her and Prince Harry’s words verbatim to the press. Her stepsister sold her phone number to the tabloids. WTF - they’ve more than proved that a phone call is too much.
Meghan has a husband and children to focus on. Her baby’s well-being is more important than anything else and being stressed out by entertaining the delusions of a mental father is not going to happen. He made his bed, he can lie in it.

I think she looks great, though I agree the summer-like dress she wore the other day was odd. I wondered if she had some last-minute wardrobe mishap and that dress was grabbed from somewhere because there was literally nothing else available close-by.
The British press are ruthlessly attacking the Duchess just as they did Fergie, years ago. It’s uncalled for. I do agree that she holds her belly too much in public at events, however. I have four kids and never once did that, as I recall. Certainly not in public. It does seem like a cry for attention and that doesn’t help Meghan’s image.

Umm she doesn’t want to provide him with an income. That’s the point. It’s weird to me that I see so many adults on DCUM say ‘I had kids to take care of me in old age’. No, kids are not your servants and they certainly don’t have to pay for your lifestyle as you age. You should be smart enough to set up retirement income and a good home as you grow old as Thomas Markle clearly was not.
He’s not even old enough to be in a senior care facility but he’s so broke that he’s sobbing at the doorstep of the daughter who worked incredibly hard for her life. Why doesn’t he go live with Samantha? Oh, that’s right she’s as desperate as he is.
PP, I mis-typed. I am the poster you are responding to. I meant to write that another poster said her father wants her to take care of him/provide him with an income. I wrote that I did not read that he wants her to provide him with an income. If this is printed somewhere, please link.

Maybe if he had been loyal and thoughtful for a second instead of running his mouth and posing for the paparazzi before she was even married he could have a good relationship with his only successful and solvent child. Even the Middletons had to wait ten years after Kate landed the Prince to get William to buy their new home. They proved themselves discreet and he rewarded them. Instead Meghan’s father ruined any chance he had.

A dress will not stop this family drama. All she needs to do is call her father. And yes, if he goes running to the tabloids, all he would say would be glowing details -- that would work to MM's advantage to the masses. She is not winning this PR battle.
Piers is obsessed with Meghan. One date and she never calls him back - two years later he is still tracking and groaning over her every move. Just glad he packed his bags and left the U.S.
Well, Piers is powerful in British media and has a huge following. His relentless attacks for MM ghosting him are reaching a big portion of the British public -- who side with Meghan's dad and think she is heartless and a grifter. Again, what harm could making amends with her father do? He will gush over his amazing daughter. PR winner. Who is she trying to win over with her tight dress? Certainly not the commoners (don't mean to be patronizing -- British lower classes?) They side with her father.

Are you guys all older moms? Younger moms (including Markle's generation; I'm in it) often do stretchy tops/dresses and don't buy actual maternity stuff. All this pearl-clutching over the stretchiness of the dress just seems old-fashioned. If you're younger, it seems petty.
