Perhaps other people have different priorities than you do?
I couldn't GAF about how fancy my car is. I need four wheels and an engine to take me from Point A to Point B, with the ability to handle poor weather and carry my stuff. Period. YMMV.

For you it might be, but for others not so much.
Ever hear of Maslow and his heirarchy of needs? Some people are simply grateful to be able to get to work any way they can.
When I was a baby, my parents lived in fear that their old, cheap car would break down and my father wouldn't be able to get to work or that they could afford the repairs. Having a happier "experience" wasn't a luxury they could afford.
Get over yourself already.

OP is coming off like a weirdo, but I have to admit I underestimated having a new vehicle. I got rid of my 20 year old car for a 2018 top of the line SUV and it's like a whole new world has been opened. It was definitely worth the money.

He has a Mercedes GLC 300 with almost all the upgrades. I have a fully loaded Ford Fusion that I'll probably eventually replace with a Mercedes. The extra features (especially auto park and adaptive cruise control) are awesome. On really hot days when I get into my car that's been sitting and baking in a parking lot all day, I love having air conditioned seats. On cold days, I appreciate heated seats and heated steering wheel. We can afford these cars, so why not have them?
No one is suggesting that you shouldn't spend your money on cars if you have the money to spend. But to disparage others (as OP is doing) because they don't have the money or chose not to spend the money to do so is ridiculous. My commute is 12 minutes and my husband works at home so I refuse to spend a lot of money on cars. I'm just not in my car enough to care.

Our in our case because we don't have the $$ for a luxurious car. What a crazy thing to contemplate, isn't it? That's why we have a battered old Kia Soul with - GASP - cloth seats. Can you EVEN IMAGINE?
It would be awesome to have a "fun" car. Maybe one day.

I had to drive a Kia Soul for a week on spring break earlier this year. It was better than driving my older car 1,000 miles (less chance of breakdowns) but I did not enjoy driving it. It was very basic, the trunk was absolutely tiny and I could not get the seat to a comfortable position for all that driving. My older Acura is more comfortable. It did get great gas mileage.
I'm one of those people who spends money up front and then keeps a car forever. I bought my Acura new and have driven it for 15 years. I still love it. I'd rather drive it, than drive a very basic new car. So I'll probably replace it with another Acura and drive that one forever.

I was a Single Mother & when my kids were young, we had no car.
(We lived in SoCal where the public transportation was/is very subpar too since in Cali, car IS king.)
It totally limited our mobility + I would have given anything to have any type of vehicle back then.
Even now, leather heated seats do not impress me.
At all.
What DOES impress me is a vehicle that gets me where I need to go, when I need to go w/very little trips to the mechanic’s garage.
I'm impressed by people who know the difference between little and few.

You must not take care of it. The leather in my 2001 Honda still looks great. I clean and condition the seats just like my leather couches.
