I guess we'll see at the spring's tryouts if that's true. FCV can't take everyone.
Arlington and Washington Spirit are the most direct threats to McLean retention/recruiting.
Arlington maybe, except it's a little further to get to, so I guess that's true, but Not Washington Spirit.
In some age groups, a lot more players left for Spirit than for Arlington.
Maybe this year, as I know one whole team followed each other over there, but that's hardly proof of a trend. Washington Spirit has a lot to do before it can be "established" as a talent hub. FCV and Arlington are both better options.
I would encourage everyone to do their own research. Talk to the coaches and technical directors and parents of current team members and decide for themselves what their "best option" is. Also, there are hundreds of pages of discussion on DCUM about the pros and cons of various teams/programs.

I agree that FVC is a better and more established option, but I am not sure about Arlington. My understanding is that Arlington does not even have girls DA beyond U15 so some parents may prefer to go to a club that offers DA in all age groups, especially those that are closer to college recruitment years.
For the 35th time, Arlington will be awarded the older age groups in the DA as the 04's progress.
Or they can just call the older teams "pre-DA" as they do with their boys teams, which were also promised expansion to older age DA groups, but it never materialized.

I’m not sure is talent ID is super special as his reputation has solid players coming to him, but he can confirm that players are good.
As far as passing girls up to older teams, the older girls have enough incoming talent that I might be sceptical of the connection of the 2.
