Yes, at Gelarto Rosa near the Basilica! We were in Budapest this summer and "ice cream every day" is one of our favorite memories. Agree with this. In my opinion Budapest is a very underrated city for food. I enjoyed the food in Budapest way more than anything in Paris. Also, the ice cream as you mentioned is not only insanely delicious it's so cheap!

I am so happy that other people love Budapest as much as I do! Dobos cake is amazing — we stayed near Gerbeaud and had a ton of dobos cake sundaes. We also went to Gundel and had an amazing meal (including goulash!).

Goose with some sort of big and possibly a little cheesy potato dumpling and spiced cabbage in Austra. It was so amazing. I was starving when I ate it so everything tasted so much better. This was two days ago.

Tapas and wine with my dad in Madrid when I was 16, followed by what in hindsight was my first drunk dial (to my mom, from a Spanish pay phone (?!), to tell her how much fun we were having!).

Runner-up: dinner at the Kartoffelhaus in Rottenberg, Germany. I can't remember what specifically I ate, but seeing as literally every menu item had potatoes in some form (hence the name), I have a general idea

I just finished reading this thread and was going to post ravioli with fresh black truffles in Rome! We have been to Italy many times but this place was amazing.

To the Sicilian poster: my DH is half-Sicilian (and half Italian haha!) and we had a similar fish-based tasting menu in Lipari (part of the Aeolian Islands). So yummy!

And of course, all of the desserts: gelato in Italy, Sachertorte at the hotel that invented it in Austria, macarons and crepes in Paris and freshly made Belgian waffles with fresh melted Belgian chocolate drizzled on top in Antwerp. That was probably 20 years ago now and I can still remember sitting on a bench and tasting it for the first time.
