Yup, going camping with a 2 year old was a revelation to me. With camping, he could do anything he wanted, run, jump, throw rocks, roll around in the dirt, and it was all fine. I don't love camping, but I think it's great for kids. We went with another family with a similar aged kid, and the 2 two year olds would just sit in the dirt and roll their little trucks around and fill them with rocks and caterpillars for hours.
