I can't believe this is even a question and I can't believe all the people here who claim they would.

I would never in a million years. Even if the house had been torn down and rebuilt.

My rental the owner had a pool table in Attic and husband went up there a bottle of Jack Daniels and a gun and shot some pool and blew his head off.

Occasional the ghost would shoot pool and you would here it.

Depends on the vibes I got from the property but probably not. I think bad things and very negative emotions do leave an imprint on a property.

We are friends with a family that had a member of the family brutally murdered in the house by a stranger. The family continued to live in the house for 10-15 years afterwards. They said it helped them to be closer to their family member. No ghosts or visitations.

When they sold the house they fully disclosed to the purchasers when offers were received in case those people wanted to rescind their offers. There were multiple offers on the house. No offers were rescinded upon the disclosure. The family selected the highest bid, which was over asking. We are friends with the new owners also.

The new owners are a beautiful family. The mother of the new family says she thinks the murdered member of the former family keeps them safe because there have been several instances of when things could have gone badly wrong (pan caught fire in the kitchen, break-in attempt) yet the situation has righted itself with almost no intervention.

I think it would be a different thing altogether to consider purchasing a house where continued abuse occurred or suicide.

I don’t worry about spirits. It’s demons that I’m afraid of. And yes, they cling to objects. It’s one reason I rarely thrift store shop. They don’t seem to like clothing or books though.

Lived in a home with a generally playful poltergeist as a child. It just wanted our attention. The only time it hurt me was when I ignored it once.

Here in Hong Kong "ghost houses" actually are 10-15% lower in price than non-ghost houses. Real estate website will have a special section for people who are willing to live in houses where murders or suicides took place.

The listing says the owner was planning to build a modern house and then his plans changed. I don't think he/she/it would have bought the property if he/she/it were superstitious. It's not like it was a secret.

My now deceased aunt and uncle bought a house where there was a famous child abuse death. They were thrilled with the discount. I visited them every year and the house gave me the creeps long before I knew of the death. They and two of their neighbors both had horrible incidences happen over the years. Three lost children in accidents (one to drowning, one to being run over by a car, and I'm not sure the situation with the third). My aunt and uncle both died in their late 50s. Their surviving children still own the house though and think it's a great house.

I'm amazed at how many of you are superstitious - and I'm a little envious too. I wish I could bring myself to believe in something besides this life! But I've never seen even a hint of anything supernatural or felt a "bad vibe" or whatever, so I just can't believe in it. It's just a house where something happened. I'm sure a large number of your non-new-build houses have had tragic things happen there and you have no idea.
