Subject: Most overrated restaurant you've eaten at recently
I feel bad for complaining, so here are some recommendations:
MXDC I've only been once, but had a great time and the food and drinks were tasty.
Black Market Bistro in Garrett Park, always excellent fish dishes, unpretentious and super cute.

I'm tired of every restaurant that packs you into tiny 2-tops shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you so that you can't help but hear each others conversations, hit their table as you try to get up, etc. and then charge you extra for the unromantic experience.

I've always had good service and enjoy the atmosphere, but the food is not great. Like eating at chain restaurant. Best thing I've eaten there is the bread.
Different PP, I've had poor service and mediocre food so I think it's a lot of hype.

Totally agree. It's OK, but it's a basic French bistro which shouldn't be the kind of place you have to book weeks in advance, it should just be a walk in, casual thing. The food was nice but not spectacular, and I agree that the service was not great.
I found the food to be entirely mediocre. That I can abide but I've never had a waiter so ready to push us out the door. He wasn't even subtle about it. What was particularly odd about it was that we were there early on a random weekday; not at all a crunch time.

I've always had good service and enjoy the atmosphere, but the food is not great. Like eating at chain restaurant. Best thing I've eaten there is the bread.

You get there before it opens, and you stand in . . . wait for it . . . a line. "The line" works fine. Stop putting on airs.

In line is better in the US. Queue makes you sounds like a tool.

versus
"the problem with Roses Luxury is "the queue"."
In my view "the line" really doesn't mean anything and requires further explanation.
when you say "the queue" its clearer that you have to get a spot or number.

I HATE Founding Farmers.
I do like Le Diplomat though.
Founding farmers is terrible
The whole chain is terrible. Farmer Fishers, and whatever else it's called now is near my office, and people always want to go for lunch. I'd rather eat at my desk.
