Huma is Muslim. She's usually beautifully turned out, although her hair is too long. I love her big mouth.

Almost all of my clothing is designer, purchased on consignment or Ebay. I have a couple jackets and cashmere sweaters that are more than 20 years old and still get regular compliments. I take good care of my high-quality clothes, with good hangars, tissue paper in sleeves, drawer liners. Most of the stuff at stores listed is really trashy. Buy a few really good basic items and accessorize. Stay away from most synthetic fabrics, especially rayon (viscose) and acrylic.

Perhaps you should look at how other expats achieve the look that you desire? They will be more like you in hair color, skin tone and color and body type. I am sure there are enough women from the subcontinent in the US who look casually elegant? Not all of them have the "Dubai returned" look.
